Interesting that Wiki shows the following example of False friends in a Dutch advertisement ("Mama die, die, die") actually meaning "Mommy, that one, that one, that one .... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:DutchEnglishfalsefriend.png
But in Russian that would be sounded almost exactly the same -"Мама дай, дай, дай..." meaning "Mom give me, give me, give me... Yes English "Die" Sounds in Russian the same way but means "Give me"!
I have my own problems/experiences with "false friend".
Helping my son Arvid (15) with chemistry we have found the following.
Benzene is not a bensin!
Molecular is pronounced differently (and difficult for Russians) from Russian "Молекула"
